6/58 Entrance doorway and wall
to left of Lecture Hall

GV II

Wall with doorway, at back of pavement. Probably C18. Squared coursed lime-
stone with ashlar dressings. About 3.5 m length of wall rising to stone coping
at c.3 m but with swept down section to right, moulded flat pyramidal capping at
about mid point. At left end a plank door giving to small courtyard to the
Meeting House (not included), in pilaster surround to flat elliptical head with
projecting keystone. The item adjoins an entrance to Dewes House (qv), is in
detail similar to that, but separatley constructed. It is important to the
continuity of the street.
