GV II

House at end of row. Early C19. Squared and coursed stone graded to smaller
courses at upper levels, large greensand quoins, slate roof, brick gable
stacks. An L-plan house with symmetrical street front in 2 storeys and 3
windows, 16-pane sashes flanking 6-panel fielded and part-glazed door under flat
timber hood on wrought iron brackets. At first floor, 2-light small-paned case-
ments flank a recessed blind opening. Back has 2-light casement at first floor,
and a 3-light casement in the wing. Ground floor windows retain panelled
shutters. Glazed conservatory in angle. Plain north gable. This is a good,
unmodified house in the context of a much modified row. It is opposite The
Grange (q.v.).
