3/40 New Barn Cottage


GV II

Detached cottage. Mid C19. Dressed limestone, tiled roof, axial
brick stack. 2-storey, 2-window. Planked door with chamfered case
and hoodmould to right, to left are two 2-light chamfered mullioned
windows with hoodmoulds to 2-storey bays, and 2-light mullioned
window to left. First floor has two mullioned windows to 2-storey
gabled bays. Roof has coped verges, stack has stepped capping.
Right and left returns have 2-light mullioned windows and 1-light
to first floor. Rear outshut has casements and planked door.
Interior not inspected. Formerly an estate cottage of the Wardour
Estate, and still unchanged externally.
