9/63 Railings, piers and gates to
north entrance of Rushmore Park


Railings on dwarf walls, piers and gates. Late C19 for General
Pitt-Rivers. Cast-iron spearhead railings on limestone ashlar
dwarf walls linking highly decorative wrought and cast-iron gate
piers with lamps to large Elizabethan-style ashlar piers with semi-
circular niches, modillioned cornice and banded obelisk terminals.
Cast and wrought-iron gates hung on the iron piers. The railings
and walls form the side garden walls to the Jubilee Room and North
Lodge (q.v.).
