5/67 Monks Cottage

GV II

Pair of cottages, now one. Circa 1860. Rubble stone, half-
hipped tiled roof, formerly thatched, brick stacks. 2-storey, 3-
window. Half-glazed door with margin-panes with tiled canopy to
right, to left are 3-light, 4-light and 2-light casements, the
latter in blocked door to left. First floor has 4-light and two
3-light casements. Right return has 3-light casement to first
floor. Left return has door and 3-light casement with 3-light
casement to first floor.
Interior not inspected. Included primarily for group value.
Contemporary with Fernely and Grovely Cottages (q.v.), both
buildings are good examples of estate building in this village.
