Farmhouse. Mid C17, rebuilt C18, C19. Dressed limestone, some
timber-framing retained to rear, thatched roof, brick stacks. L-
plan, gable end to road with through passage. Two-storey, 3-
window. Central 4-panelled door with flat wooden hood on
brackets, C19 three-light casement to either side. First floor
has three 3-light leaded casements. Attached to right is late C18
two-storey addition with one 12-pane tripartite sash to ground and
first floor, basement has segmental-headed opening, half-hipped
tiled roof. Projecting mid C18 wing to left has 4-panelled door
in C19 gabled porch, 4-light casement to left and 1-light to right,
first floor has 2-light and 4-light leaded casements. Left return
has 1-light casement and bull's eye window to first floor. Rear
of wing has patio doors and 2-light and 1-light casements, outshut
to right has 2-light casements and C20 dormer, C19 extension to
wing has C20 casements inserted into formerly open-fronted wall.
Rear of main range has C17 square-panelled timber-framing to left,
retaining one blocked 3-light wooden mullioned window, wall partly
rebuilt in uncoursed limestone C18, two 2-light casements to ground
floor and three to first floor, to left is C18 lean-to covered
passage with three 2-light leaded casements. Right return of late
C18 range has blocked sashes with flat arches and keystones and 2-
light casements, weatherboarded outbuilding attached to right has
planked door and 3-light casement.
Interior of C17 range has chamfered beams with ogee stops and open
fireplace with chamfered lintel with ogee stops in room to right of
front door, mid C18 wing has chamfered beams with stepped stops,
C19 four-panelled doors in moulded architraves. Roof over C17
range has partly exposed trusses with kneed principals. A house of
several builds; probably originally a C17 timber-framed cottage
with through-passage, rebuilt in stone and refenestrated in mid C18
when the south wing was added, north range added late C18 and
further refenestration of ground floor mid C19.
