Rectory, now detached house. C18, altered 1842 by W.B. Moffatt.
Rubble stone, Welsh slate roof with tiles to rear pitch, paired
ashlar stacks with moulded cappings. L-plan. Two-storey, 4-window
front. Gabled porch to left of centre has double-chamfered Tudor-
arched doorway with half-glazed arched door, hoodmould with date
1842 in shield over, to right are 3-light, single and 3-light
mullioned windows with Tudor-arched lights, first floor has same
windows with two gablets, projecting range to left has 2-storey
stone bay with 3-light mullioned and transomed windows and 2-light
mullioned window to attic gable. Left return has French windows in
5-light mullioned and transomed window, external stack to left and
C20 half-glazed door with 2-light mullioned window over, first
floor has 2-light and 3-light mullioned window. To right return is
late C19 wing; 4-panelled door with transom light, two 3-light
recessed chamfered mullioned windows, first floor has two 3-light
mullioned windows with gablets. Rear of main range has 2-light
casements and mullioned window to ground floor, 3-light mullioned
window with arched lights lighting stairs, external stack and 2-
light mullioned window to first floor, attached single-storey
outbuildings with concrete tiled roof. Roof has coped verges with
urn finials.
Interior has 4-panelled doors and stone Tudor-arched fireplaces,
stairs with stick balusters. (Diocesan Records, Wiltshire.)
