1/191 Moon Cottage

GV II

Detached cottage. Mid C17. Rubble stone, thatched roof with half-
hip to left and coped verge to right, brick stack. Baffle-entry
plan. One storey and attic, 1-window. C20 door to left of centre
with thatched canopy, to left is 3-light recessed chamfered
mullioned window, to right 3-light and 2-light ovolo-mullioned
windows with hoodmoulds. Full flush dormer to attic has 3-light
ovolo-mullioned window with hoodmould. Right return has 2-light
recessed chamfered mullioned window to attic. Left return has C20
casements, rear has 1-light and 2-light ovolo-mullioned windows,
C20 flat-roofed extension and C20 casement to attic.
Interior not accessible at time of survey (March 1985). The south
bay appears to be an addition; possibly late Cl7, straight joint
with quoins to left of front door.
