Detached cottage. NT/1635 on datestone to attic dormer. Limestone
rubble stone, thatched roof with hip to left and coped verge to
right, gable end brick stacks. Single storey and attic, 3-
windowed; casements. Front has C20 three-light mullioned casement
to left, central 2-light hollow-chamfered mullioned casement with
hoodmould, blocked doorway and 3-light hollow-chamfered mullioned
casement with hoodmould to right. Full attic dormer has 4-light
hollow-chamfered mullioned casement with hoodmould, small blocked
light and moulded tablet with relief lettering as above, coped
verge with small ball finial. Right return has single casement to
ground floor and 2-light mullioned casement to attic. Left return
has C20 casement. Rear is now entrance front with 2-light hollow-
chamfered mullioned casement to left of planked door with thatched
canopy, 2-light mullioned casement and second planked door to
right. Attic floor has 2-light eyebrow dormer to right and single
light to stairs.
Interior has two open fireplaces, north one with chamfered stone
lintel on stone jambs, south fireplace has chamfered timber lintel
on stone jambs, chamfered beams, the north with small roll
moulding, the south with ogee stops, first floor has small stone
Tudor-arched fireplace. Attached to rear is square rubble stone
outhouse with hipped thatched roof, planked door and 2-light
casement.
