1/146 Yew Tree Cottage

GV II


Detached cottage. C17, with C18 and C20 additions. Rubble stone,
thatched half-hipped roof with brick stacks. Single storey and
attic, 3 windows. Planked door and 3-light recessed chamfered
mullioned leaded casement to left, single-light recessed chamfered
casement, planked stable door and 2-light casement to right. Attic
has three 2-light casements to eyebrow dormers. Right hand bay is
later addition, probably C18. Attached to right is 1960s addition,
not of special interest. Rear has 2-light and single-light
casements, one in blocked doorway, 2-light casement to attic.
Interior has deep chamfered beams with stepped stops, restored open
fireplace with chamfered lintel at south end.
