7/54 The Mill House

GV II

House with attached former mill. Mid C18, altered C20. Dressed
limestone, hipped tiled roof, axial brick stack. Central lobby
entry. Two-storey, 3-window. Central 6-panelled door with 16-pane
sash either side. First floor has 2-light casement either side of
blocked window. Right return has C19 two-light casements and C20
casements to former mill to rear. Left return has 2-light casement
to first floor. Interior has open fireplace with renewed lintel on
stone jambs, stairs on side of stack in lobby, planked doors. Mill
partly converted to house in 1970s and now partly without a roof,
retains cast iron waterwheel and gearing.
