ST 82 SE (east side)

6/61 Middle Coombe Farmhouse


Farmhouse. Late C17, altered mid C19. Dressed limestone, Welsh
slate roof, gabled end brick stacks. L-plan with C17 range gable-
end to road. Two-storey, 1-windowed south front with 6-panelled
door in moulded architrave to right and 2-light casement to left,
first floor has 2-light casement. Wing projecting to front has 2-
light casement to ground and first floor, eaves raised in brick mid
C19. Gable end to road has 6-pane fixed window. Rear of wing has
2-light casements including one small 2-light leaded casement, hip
to right. C20 garage extension to left not of special interest.
Interior not accessible at time of survey (November 1985), but said
to have open fireplace with chamfered lintel on stone jambs and
chamfered beams.
