GV II

Pair of estate cottages. Circa 1860 for Marquess of Westminster.
Limestone ashlar front, dressed limestone rear and returns,
concrete tiled roof, formerly thatched, brick stacks. Two-storey,
4-window; casements. Planked door and 3-light mullioned casement
with hoodmould to left, planked door with two mullioned casements
and hoodmoulds to right. First floor has four 3-light mullioned
casements. All casements are cast-iron latticed. Left and right
returns have two single light cast-iron casements with hoodmoulds.
Rear has single storey extensions with tiled hipped roofs and
mullioned casements. Interior not inspected. Good example of mid-
C19 estate cottage on Fonthill Abbey Estate.
