Pair of estate cottages, now one house. 1850s. Flemish garden
wall bond brick with limestone dressings, fishscale tiled roof,
brick stacks. Single storey and attic, 2-window. Entrances to
rear; planked door to right in chamfered stone case with
hoodmoulds, C20 timber porch to left and two 3-light cast-iron
casements with octagonal panes and hoodmoulds, unfinished datestone
to centre. Two gabled brick and stone dormers have 2-light
octagonal-paned cast-iron casements to ground floor and to attic.
Rear facing road has single-light cast-iron casement with octagonal
panes to left and right of ground floor and to two dormers.
Interior has original joinery. One of a row of five pairs of
Fonthill estate cottages built for the Marquess of Westminster;
each cottage of a slightly different design.
