4/231 Malthouse Cottage

GV II

Detached cottage. Late C17 with C20 additions. Dressed
limestone, thatched roof, gable end brick stacks. Gable end to
road. Two-storey and attic, 3 windows, C20 two-storey central
porch with reset 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement to
first floor, ground and first floor either side have 3-light
recessed chamfered mullioned casements. Two dormers with 2-light
casements. Attached to left and right are C20 extensions, not of
special interest.
Interior has chamfered beams, doors with 4 raised panels and
butterfly hinges, winding stairs to attic from first floor, cellar.
Included despite C20 additions, as original cottage remains
relatively unaltered.
