4/239 Old School House

GV II

Detached house. Late C17. Dressed limestone, asbestos tiled
roof, formerly thatched, brick stack to rear. Gable end to road.
Two-storey, 3-window south front. Planked door to right, 3-light
recessed chamfered mullioned casements and 2-light casement in
blocked doorway to left. First floor has two 2-light mullioned
casements and 3-light casement. Right return facing street has
stone canted bay to ground floor with 20-pane fixed window,
probably C18, 2-light mullioned casement to first floor, two
blocked single-light recessed chamfered casements. Coped verges.
Rear has 2-light mullioned casement to left, single and 2-light
mullioned casements to first floor, attached to right is C20 two-
storey extension with reset door with 6 fielded panels. Interior
not accessible at time of survey (January 1986).
