4/277 Ark Farmhouse
Farmhouse. C18. Dressed limestone to ground floor, English bond
brick to first floor, Welsh slate roof. L-plan. Two-storey, 4-
window front facing fish pond. Three-bay portico to left with
vermiculated block rustication to pilasters and voussoirs of round
arched openings to front and to sides, modillioned cornice and
pediment, to right is C20 conservatory with glazed doors, first
floor has oculus to left and four 2-light casements to right. Rear
has round-arched doorway with vermiculated block rustication and
mask keystone, double half-glazed doors, three 2-light casements to
ground floor and five 2-light and one 3-light casement to first
floor. Wing to left has half-glazed door and 2 and 3-light
casements. Interior not accessible at time of survey (January
1986). The portico and round-arched doorway are reputed to have
come from a Bath House built on the pond by Richard Woods, 1766/7.
