WEST TISBURY PYTHOUSE PARK
ST 82 NE (south side)

GV II

Lodge to Pythouse. Dated 1869 on datestone, for Bennett family,
C20 addition. Limestone ashlar, tiled roof with bands of fishscale
tiles, diagonally-set stone stacks. T-plan. Single storey and
attic, 2 windows. C19 door in gabled wing, facing drive, canted
bay to left with 2-light casement over with Bennett heraldic arms
on stone tablet above. Left return facing main road has two 2-
light stone mullioned casements to ground floor, wooden oriel to
left and single casement to right gable of attic, datestone over.
Attached to left is C20 addition in similar style. Interior not
accessible at time of survey (February 1986).
