Detached cottage. Early C18, extended late C19, probably by Webb.
English bond brick with vitrified headers, stone gable ends,
thatched roof with coped verges and gable end stone stacks. L-
plan. Single-storey and attic, 3-windows. Central half-glazed
door with gabled canopy, 3-light leaded casement either side. One
long eyebrow dormer with 2-light leaded casement to centre, 3-light
either side. Right return has lean-to extension with 4-panelled
door. Rear has leaded casements and eyebrow dormers. 1880s rear
wing has gabled stone porch with coped verge and half-glazed door,
2-light steel casement and one leaded light to left of English bond
ground floor, moulded brick string course to dressed limestone
first floor; two gabled dormers with steel casements.
Cottage on the Clouds Estate extended after building of Clouds
House (q.v.) with details similar to those on Webb's service
buildings (q.v.).
