Field Barn
GV II
Shelter shed for sheep. Early C19. English bond brick, pantiled
roof. Twelve bays; ten are open-fronted facing fold yard to
north, two nearest road are partitioned off and closed, probably
for carts. South wall windowless, open north front on wooden posts
with padstones, west gable end facing road is open. Shallow-
pitched roof with collar and tie-beam trusses, the soffits of the
tie-beams cut away to give maximum roof height. Part of good C19
downland farmbuilding group, on south side of yard opposite Chapel
Field Barn (q.v.).
