Inn. Late C18. Flemish bond brick with vitrified headers and
stone quoins, Welsh slate roof with coped verges and gable end
brick stacks. Main east-facing range with several rear wings.
Two-storey, 3-window front. Central 6-panelled double doors in
pedimented porch with round arch on imposts with keystone, 16-pane
sash with flat arch and keystone either side. Stone plat band to
first floor; three 16-pane sashes. Roof eaves on carved wooden
brackets. Right return has early C19 lean-to covered passage with
elliptically-arched opening, pointed leaded casement to attic,
attached to rear is 1830s projecting 2-storey addition with 12-pane
sashes, parapet with pierced triangles. Left return has 2-storey
and single-storey extensions attached to wing with 2-light leaded
casement and hipped dormer, main front range has pointed leaded
attic casement. Rear gabled rubble stone wings with casements, C20
entrance addition.
Interior has C18 joinery; 6-panelled doors and shutters. Front
bar has C18 moulded plaster cornice to ceiling divided into 5 bays,
open fireplace with lintel on stone jambs. Rear early C19
drawing room fireplace with paterae. Rear wing has blocked open
fireplace. Four-step stone mounting block against front wall.
