House. 1900, by Detmar Blow for spinster sister of Lord Greville
of Heale House. Cob on flint sills, smooth rendered. Thatched
roof. Two storeys, a central bay recessed behind two symmetrical
2-bay gabled wings. Central entrance, a 6-panelled door within
open thatched porch. Four-light timber windows with moulded frames
on gables, three-light above. Inset dormers to central bay. Wings
quarter hipped. Polygonal thatched bay windows on sides of wings,
the left wing extended to. rear by a further half bay. Brick stacks
with cogged offset heads.
Interior: Generous entrance hall with stair with double spindle
turned balusters set around open-well. Floors of timber. An
interesting late use of traditional local construction.
