Fountain. Dated 1887. Ashlar. Basin of quatrefoil plan containing
pedestal of square plan with Baroque round-arch niches in each side with
commemorative inscriptions concerning Queen Victoria's life. Above, a dish
with acanthus leaves and lions' heads supporting a smaller dish with
entwined dolphins. Nearby is an iron ring let into the paving, said to
have been used to tie up a bull for the purpose of baiting with dogs.
