House. Mid C19. Ashlar sandstone with herringbone tooling in draughted
margins, Westmorland slate roof. 2 storeys, 5 bays. Plinth. Central
distyle Doric portico with lead flashing, blocking course above, masking
6-panel door below overlight with decorative glazing bars within moulded
architrave. Sash windows in moulded architraves. Plain string-course.
Simple cornice with parapet above. Hipped roof. 3 ridge stacks. Interior:
marble fireplaces; library with mahogany fittings; dining-room cornice with
flowers and fruit; cantilevered stone staircase with cast-iron balusters.
