piers and boundary walls
to Spennithorne Hall

GV II

Railings, gates, gate-piers and walls. Early C19. Wrought-iron railings
and gates; ashlar sandstone piers, rubble walls. Low rubble wall with
ashlar saddleback coping separating back and front drives to Hall, support
railings of square-section bars with tall pyramidal finials. 3 pairs of
gates of square-section bars with lozenges and intersecting circles.
Railings and gates have urn finials to end and intermediate standards.
4 gate-piers of rusticated ashlar with cornices, outer 2 with coved caps,
central 2 with pyramidal caps above plain frieze. Rubble walls to south of
churchyard and to south of gardens.
