Spine and one cross-wing of E-plan house, other cross-wing forming Fox and
Hounds Inn (q.v.). Early C18. Rubble with ashlar dressings, artificial
slate roof to spine (Catheral Hall); stone slate roof to cross-wing
(Catheral House). 2½ storeys, L-shaped plan with 1:1:2 windows. Hall: of
irregular plan, with outshut at the front containing entrance. Part-glazed
door in eared architrave, splayed at the base with roses in ears. To its
right, single-light chamfered window. String course. To the right, and on
first floor, 2-light double-chamfered mullion windows. End stack left.
House to the right (former cross-wing): boulder plinth, chamfered quoins.
Ground floor: 3-light sash window in architrave, eared at bottom, with
relieving arch above moulded band. First floor: two 2-light sashes in
architraves. Moulded band. 2-light sash window in architrave within coped
gable with shaped kneelers. Right return: part rendered. External stack.
Ground floor: 2 single-light windows in architraves. Moulded band. 2-light
window in architrave on intermediate level. First floor: 2 blind oculi in
keyed architraves.
