Cottage (No 1) and house (No 2) to right. Mid-late C17 with date 1751.
Coursed rubble with sandstone ashlar dressings; concrete tile roof to No 1;
clay pantiles with stone slates at eaves to No 2. 2 storeys with partial
rear outshut, 3 first-floor windows in all. Quoins. Shaped kneelers,
ashlar copings overall. No 1: 4-panel door in slightly-chamfered ashlar
surround with interrupted jambs. 1 bay of 2-light double-chamfered mullion
windows. Left return: external stack with benchmark on quoins. In rear
angle, rounded projection perhaps for bread oven. Single-light double-
chamfered window to loft. No 2: central part-glazed 4-panel door in
chamfered quoined surround with chamfer-stops on plinths. On lintel,
inscription "I W 1751". To left, 3-light double-chamfered mullion window.
To right, 8-pane sash window. First floor: 2-light double-chamfered mullion
windows. End stacks.
