House, now cow house, and outbuilding under 1 roof. Dated 1670, with later
alterations. Rubble, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 first-floor windows to
south elevation. Ground floor, from left: chamfered round-arched fire
window; blocked 3-light double-chamfered mullion window; blocked 4-light
double-chamfered mullion window with central king mullion and dripstone;
blocked 2-light double-chamfered mullion window; inserted stable door;
blocked 2-light double-chamfered mullion window with dripstone. First
floor: 3-light double-chamfered mullion windows with dripstones, each with a
mullion missing. Stacks at ends and between second and third first-floor
windows. Rear: window in part-blocked ashlar quoined chamfered doorway with
triangular soffit to lintel, and on lintel recessed panel with raised
characters "GIH" "1670" and decorative motif of crossed knives, possibly
symbols of a butcher's trade. The Browns were the last family to live in
