approximately one metre
east of chancel of Church
of St Peter and St Felix


Tombstone. c1749. Ashlar sandstone. Slab with wave-shaped top and
inscription commemorating Samuel Smith d1749, a smelter and refiner in the
West Indies and Great Britain. According to the Parish Registers, he lived
at Whashton, where there was an C18 copper smelting mill.
