House, C18.
MATERIALS: coursed squared stone, graduated stone slate roof, chimneys built of hand-made brick.
EXTERIOR: the building faces south and is of three stories and two bays with end stacks. The frontage is fully quoined on the right-hand side, but only to the top floor on the left-hand side, the lower two floors having a butt-joint with the neighbouring property, this suggesting that the neighbouring property was built first. The ground floor has two inserted openings, a small window to the right and a garage doorway to the left. The upper two floors of the frontage are symmetrical, retaining C18 openings that have projecting plain stone frames consisting of monolithic jambs, lintels and sills. The two first-floor windows have eight-over-eight pane sashes. The second floor has a Venetian window consisting of a central semi-circular headed light that is blind, flanked by two square lights containing eight-over-eight pane sashes. The gables are raised and coped, the right (east) gable having a shaped kneeler to the front elevation. The house’s main entrance is to the east gable, this elevation otherwise being blind.
