Part of The Manor House (qv), now hotel. c1767. For John Pratt. Rubble,
stone slate roof. 3 storeys, 3 bays, with rear wing. In bay 1, 5-panel
door in round-arched architrave on plinths with imposts and tripartite
keystone. To right of door, mounting block of 4 steps attached to wall.
Windows in architraves. Sash windows with glazing bars on ground and first
floors, 9-pane unequally-hung sashes on second floor. Large stack at end
right. Interior: panelling of various dates in ground-floor lounge, and C18
fireplace in rear bar. Cantilevered limestone staircase. C18 panelling and
cornice in first-floor dining room. C18 turned-baluster staircase from
first to second floors. Hartley M and Ingilby J, Yorkshire Village (1979).
