Inn. Dated 1445, but present building mainly of late C18 and C19 date.
Roughcast rubble, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 2:3:4 bays. To left, C20
2-bay extension. Central 3 bays: early-mid C19. Central door, now window,
in ashlar surround with cornice. To right, square bay-window. Other
windows, 4-pane sashes. Original inn the next 3 bays, the 4th bay being an
addition. Between bays 1 and 2, square porch with 4-panel leaved door below
overlight in ashlar surround with imposts. Above porch on first floor, a
stone with re-cut inscription "AD 1445". To left, one bay of paired 4-pane
sash windows in ashlar surrounds. To right of door, and 2 bays on first
floor, 4-pane sash windows with ashlar surrounds. In fourth bay, square
bay-window, and on first floor a 4-pane sash window. Corniced stacks at
ends of original 3 bays, and stack at end right. Interior: sections of C17
panelling; 2 lengths of possibly C16 frieze carved with vine leaves and
bunches of grapes; C18 turned-baluster staircase.
