Low Houses Farmhouse

GV II
Farmhouse. Dated 1614, with late C19 alterations. Rendered rubble, stone
slate roof. 2 storeys, 4 bays. In second bay, 4-panel door in quoined
ashlar chamfered surround with triangular soffit to lintel which is
inscribed "AN:DO:1614", with "F A" on spandrels, and hood-mould. In fourth
bay, 2-light double-chamfered mullion window with hood-mould. Other
windows, 6-pane casements with slab lintels. Stack between bays 1 and 2.
Left return gable wall demolished for rebuilding at time of resurvey,
exposing very large quoins. Included for group value.
