House. Mid C18. Rubble, concrete interlocking tile roof, with stone slates
at eaves. 2 storeys, 4 first-floor windows. Between second and third
first-floor windows, door of 4 vertical panels in ashlar architrave with
broken pediment. Sash windows with exposed sash boxes and flat arches, 3 to
left of door on ground floor, and 2 to right. On ground floor, further to
right, canted oriel window and board door. Blocked first-floor windows
between first and second windows, and 2 to extreme right. Shaped kneelers,
moulded ashlar coping. Brick stacks at ends and between third and fourth
first-floor windows. Right return: blocked oculus in gable. The name was
changed from Harthorn Farm by a farmer who moved from Cordilleras Farm north
of Marske in Swaledale.
