GV II

Lodge. Late C18. For the Dundas family of Aske Hall, probably by John Carr
of York. Ashlar sandstone, Westmorland slate roof. Single storey, 3 bays.
Plinth. Central distyle Roman Doric pedimented portico in antis with plain
frieze except for a patera above each capital, recessed behind to form porch
with 4-panel door in left and right returns. In first and third bays a sash
window with glazing bars and projecting sill. Hipped roof. Corniced
lateral stack in centre of ridge. Flat-roof rear extension not of special
interest.
