Tombstone. c1758. Ashlar sandstone with bronze plaque. Triangular-headed
stone. East side: aedicule with open pediment with an angel's head and
wings, in bas relief, open book, hourglass, and fluted pilasters framing
plaque commemorating John Moore sen, of Gilling, brazier, d1758, wife
Elizabeth d1753, and son John Moore jun, brazier, d1758. West side: an
angel's head and wings in bas relief, and 10 lines of verse telling the fate
of the younger John Moore, who was murdered on the Gilling-Richmond road
near Aske Hall.
