GV II

Former water point. Dated 1897. Ashlar sandstone. Round-arched opening
with keyed lintel and recessed spandrels surmounted by segmental pediment
with moulded frame and date ligatured in tympanum. At base, on each side, a
rounded stone. Large block partly filling central opening, and within it at
the top a cast-iron animal mask formerly with spout. Included for group
value. The structure is attached to a wall which formed part of the
enclosure, now incomplete, of the village pound.
