Church of St John the


4 slab tombstones. Early and late C18. Ashlar sandstone. First stone:
small, with wave-moulded top, and worn inscription commemorating Anthony
Guy, probably of early C18 date. Second stone: large, with elaborately
scroll-moulded top with paterae and fronds, and inscription commemorating
Jane Wheatley of Caldwell d1799. Third stone: large, with triangular-shaped
top with ogee moulding, and inscription commemorating Thomas Eeles of
Caldwell d1778. Fourth stone: medium sized, with scrolled top and
inscription commemorating Ann Allison and Christopher Allison, both d1772.
