Aqueduct on Leeds and
Liverpool Canal

Aqueduct, circa 1774 by John Longbotham. The canal is carried over Newby Road by a
single span forming a tunnel 50 m long. The soffit is of large ashlar blocks and is
canted upwards at each end to increase headroom. Solid rubble parapets.
