Barn. Probably C16. Ashlar, rubblestone, graduated stone slate roof.
Single storey, 10 bays. 2 double board doors with segmental arches in half-
dormers. Other C19 and C20 openings to south side. Large gableted roof.
Aisled interior with 9 king-post frames. Braces from king posts to ridge
pieces. Braces from arcade posts to tie-beams and purlins, small
intermediate trusses between bays. Posts raised on padstones. Threshing
floor across fifth bay. The tithe barn to Bolton Priory. A very unusual
survival in the north of England.
