HALTON WEST
Halton Place: Walls to kitchen garden

Walls. Late C18 and early C19. Squared stone and brick. Eastermost wall is of stone. Segmental arch to kitchen garden with coat of arms above on Rococco Shield. To left on parapet is reclining whippet before parapet drops in a series of steps reminiscent of a Dutch gable. Westermost wall, of brick, is similar but of two builds. Flat headed entrance. Reclining whippet and similar stepped parapet. The northern ends of these walls are joined to the estate outbuildings, q.v.
