Cowper Cote Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Late C17 with C19 and C20 alterations. Slobbered rubble, red sandstone
dressings, stone slate roof. Lobby-entry plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Former central
entrance now blocked. Left-hand C19 entrance has plain surround, c1970 6-panel
door; gabled slate hood. Ground floor left-hand 4-light double chamfered mullioned
window with king mullion; c1970 casements. Right-hand early C20 2-light window
in place of former C17 window; sashes without glazing bars. 3 upper floor double
chamfered windows, 2 former 2-light with mullions now missing, sashes with glazing
bars; right-hand former 3 light, now only left-hand mullion remaining; sashes with
glazing bars. Eaves modillions, central ridge and right-hand gable end ridge stack.
Interior contains inglenook fireplace with chamfered surround and basket arch.
