GV II

Farmhouse. Late C17 with C19 and C20 alterations. Slobbered rubble brought to
course, stone dressings, stone slate roof. 3 cell plan with rear cross wing. Gable
end to street. Entrance front: 2 storeys, 4 bays. Second bay contains projecting
gabled entrance porch. Chamfered surround to entrance, basket arched lintel, 4
panel door; single chamfered light in gable. First bay contains ground floor 3-
light double chamfered mullioned window with hoodmould and upper floor 2-light
double chamfered mullioned window. In third and fourth bays are two 4-light double
chamfered mullioned windows with hoodmoulds to ground floor, and 3 and 2-light
double chamfered mullioned windows to upper floor. All windows were heightened
in late C19 and contain c1980 casements and some c1980 mullions. Eaves modillions.
Right of centre and right-hand gable end ridge stack. Rear: projecting gabled
cross-wing contains late C17 ground floor 3-light double chamfered mullioned window
with c1980 right-hand mullion. Interior: centre room contains massive inglenook
fireplace with chamfered surround, stops at base, segmental arch of 4 voussoirs.
