Large house, mid-late C18, altered c1840 with late C19 and C20 alterations. Square stone, rendered roughcast, sandstone dressings, slate roof. Greek revival style. C18 wing with projecting c1840 entrance block to right. Entrance front: two storeys, three bays. Right-hand entrance has Greek Ionic portico, pulvinated frieze, pediment with modillions; four-panel door with dentilled lintel, and fanlight. On ground floor French window with moulded surround, late C19 casements. Upper floor sill band and two upper floor windows with moulded surrounds; four pane sashes. Projecting modillioned cornice. Projecting quoins, left-hand eaves stack. Left-hand return contains two storey bow window with three lights to each storey. On ground floor are two engaged pilasters and two Ionic columns in antis; decorated modillions. Upper floor sill band and moulded surrounds to windows. Sashes without glazing bars on ground floor, sashes with glazing bars on upper floor. To left are recessed four bays of C18 house, refronted c1840 with two c1910 bay windows to ground floor, probably by Perkin & Bulmer. Cast iron verandah of late C19 with Composite capitals to four pillars.

Interior: mid C19 architraves to round-headed arch from entrance hall to stair, now with mid C20 two-leaf doors. Elaborate mid C19 plasterwork on ceiling of entrance hall and drawing room. Stone geometrical stair -with moulded cast iron balusters and wreathed handrail. Plan of house in entrance hall by James Hartley of Skipton, 1926, copied from plan by Perkin & Bulmer, 1911.
