Formerly farmhouse, now 2 cottages. Mid-late C17 with C20 alterations. Slobbered
rubble, stone dressings, stone slate roof. Two storey gabled entrance bay to
right and 2-storey wing to left which breaks forward slightly. Right-hand entrance
has plain surround and plank door. To left is heightened ground floor 2-light
chamfered window with c1980 mullion, similar but 3-light window on upper floor;
C20 leaded casements. Small window with chamfered surround in gable with 3 rows
of pigeon holes above. A tall stack projects from the left-hand side of the
gable, part of which is butt-jointed. Left-hand wing has ground floor 2-light
chamfered mullioned window and single light chamfered window to right. Upper
floor has 3-light chamfered mullioned window. All have C20 casements. Left-hand
gable end ridge stack. A right-hand wing of the hall was burnt and replaced c1900
by 2 adjoining cottages. A reset decorated panel in a C20 porch is dated 1669
and has initials SH/A.
