Barn with attached shelter sheds. Dated-1787. Rubble, freestone dressings, stone
slates, double Roman tiles, corrugated iron roof. Gabled, full height barn with
catslide porches at west bay, that to north is raised and has a lower pitch roof of
corrugated iron, raised, coped verges with saddlestones, east gable has large oculus
with moulded frame under drip, above that is owlhole and datestone, W-/1787, at
upper levels west gable is similar (WF/1787)below all obscured by lean-to extension
with double Roman tiles and plain door and window to north. Adjoining this and
running south is a long gabled range of shelter sheds, now roofed with corrugated iron,
south gable end had a smaller framed oculus and datestone, WF/1794, plain columns with
cushion capitals. INTERIOR: 3-bay roof, one tiebeam truss, one collared, heavy through
purlins, raking braces, porch reveals have good quoins with scratched graffiti,
dressed lamp niches in each porch. At time of survey, shelter sheds and lean-to
moving downhill, barn stable.
