as South View Cafe

Formerly house and cottage, now house and post office. C18. Limewashed rubble,
stone dressings, stone slate roof. House: 2 storeys, double-fronted. Entrance
has moulded surround and 6-panel door, upper 2 panels are glazed. Windows have
plain surrounds with recessed flat-faced mullions. All have 2 lights except
right-hand ground floor which has 3 lights. A mixture of 4, 6 and 8-pane sashes,
casements and fixed lights. Limewashed ridge stack in left-hand gable and similar
stack at junction of former gable and cottage. Cottage: 2 storeys, 1 bay. Facade
slightly set back from house. Central ground floor entrance under C20 porch with
C20 ground floor bay window to left. Right-hand ground floor window has plain
surround and C19 sash without glazing bars. Upper floor has 2-light flat-faced
mullioned window with plain surround and casements. Stone ridge stack in right-
hand gable. This property is prominently situated in the centre of the village
beside the bridge.
