10/2 Bishopsdale House
II
Former house, now warehouse. C17 and C18. Rubble, stone dressings, stone slate
roof. 3 storeys, 3 bays. Central entrance has a chamfered surround and dripstone:
6-panel door. To left is a former entrance with a chamfered surround and basket
arched lintel; now partly blocked to form a window. At the extreme left is a
double chamfered 2-light cavetto mullioned window on a square stool and a similar
but taller 3-light window on the extreme right with stone mullions now replaced by
timber; both have hoodmoulds. On first floor are 2 C18 chamfered mullioned windows
with moulded surrounds and a C17 double chamfered 3-light cavetto mullioned window
to the right at a slightly higher level; continuous hoodmould. On second floor are
3 former 2-light chamfered mullioned windows immediately under the eaves but all
with mullions now cut out. A mixture of C19 and C20 casements in windows, some
with early C20 stained glass. Shaped modillions to gable. Gable end and central
ridge stacks. Right hand return includes first floor entrance with chamfered
surround and C17 lintel with illegible date. On second floor is a 2-light
chamfered mullioned window with mullion now cut out. Interior contains nothing of
special interest.
