10/18 Stables, Coach-house and
adjoining Manor Cottage (Nos. 1
1.2.56 and 2), to north-west of Combe
Hay Manor

GV II

Cottage, coach-house and stables. Late C17 cottage, now two flats. Rubble
with freestone dressings and quoins; slate roof with coped raised verges.
2 storeys and attic in C20 dormer. Four windows: 3- and 2-light casements in
ovolo moulded mullions and surrounds. Plank door off-centre to left in
chamfered surround. To the right of Manor Cottage are the adjoining coach-
house and stable blocks. Late C18. Ashlar and rubble with ashlar dressings;
slate roofs with coped raised verges. The coach-house block is at the left
(west): 4 slightly cambered doorways with 2 oval lights over. The stable
block steps down at the right, in 2 sections divided by quoins: the left part
has 2 plank doors divided by Diocletian windows on the ground floor and 3 oval
lights above; the right part has a central plank door and 2 windows on each
floor of same types as the left part.
