GV II


House. Dated 1788. Limestone rubble, graduated stone slate roof. 2
storeys, 2 x 1½ bays. Quoins. Main facade, to south east, has an inserted
central doorway. Flanking and first-floor flat-faced mullion windows of 3
stepped lights. Shaped kneelers, gable copings, central corniced stack,
banded stack to right gable. The original entrance is in the right return:
board door, with probably original latch fitting, to right, in plain
surround, the lintel having an inscription, " I T 1788 ". Inserted windows.
Rear: central rectangular stair window with 4 fixed panes; 2-light flat-
faced mullion windows to ground and first floors. Interior: stone flagged
floors throughout, stone stairs of 2 straight flights with square-section
balusters to centre of rear rooms. Large C18 fireplace with moulded lintel
to front room, right. Original 2-panel doors.
